After 4 years of good service it's time to let my gen 3 go. Car has been good but this last 6 months the engine is giving me trouble. Engine rattle, burning oil is the main ones. I put on at least 130K miles in the 4 years I've owned her but I replaced it with a 2018 camry XLE 26K miles. lets see how this camry performs.
Good times when I got the windows tinted

So I did everything possible to get my prius running correctly, changed egr valve, cooler, intake manifold, throttle body, camshaft position sensor, ignition coils, spark plugs but the engine is still running horrible. So I took it to a mechanic and had him look it over and he told me it might be a rod bearing. so the engine is pretty much junk. So now I have to search for a used engine and pay the labor. This is very upsetting since i took very good care of my prius and had no leaks of any kind. Sad day.

Does it misfire? Can you test for a bad head gasket?

it's having random misfires on every cylinder. as far as head gasket I have no coolant leaks and when I removed all the spark plugs they were dry.

I would check your fuel injectors. Or maybe outright change them out

Dealer oil changes, and when I had to add oil I kept a 5 gallon jug of Liqui Moly

Are you planning on replacing the engine yourself? At 184k miles the cost of replacing the engine might come close to, if not exceed the potential selling price of the car.
