Do the 2015-2017 OEM tail lights fit in the 2012-2014 Prius v? I saw there are some aftermarket options available but I prefer staying OEM just with the more classic red look of the second generation Prius v.

I apologize if this is an annoying FAQ; I did a bunch of searching but couldn't find the answer. Thanks in advance for any help!

From what i know, yes, 2015-2017 was just a face lift, not a new model in any sort of way. But personally if i was you, id pick some valenti taillights instead, full LED and really updates the look.

There is no Gen 2 Prius v.
In 2015 there was a facelift and mechanical changes to improve front crash testing results but is was still the same generation Prius v.

    (Updated with correct ebay link)

I hate the clear oem lights. Found the valenti ones on ebay.

I found a similar question posted in the prius c forum. For that car, you need to also replace a short plug-in wiring harness to convert from early to late lights. 2015 Tail Light Retrofit | PriusChat

I don’t know if the connectors on the early and late v’s are the same, but if they are not, hopefully there’s a similar solution.

I think I’ll just get the valenti ones.

(Edit- I think the later lights only have led stop/tail, so flash rate probably not a problem.)

I looked at used taillights on ebay, and the connector looks identical. Probably you’d have to add resistors or a different flasher so the later led turn signals would flash at the right rate.
