2016 Prius Four. Updated my iPhone to OS 13.1.1 now any time my phone connects to the Bluetooth... the radio boots up.. and a few seconds later it just resets. If I turn my phone Bluetooth off... radio works fine.

I have an appointment to have the software looked at tomorrow at the dealer.. but it’s so weird.. has anyone else had this happen??

    Thanks!

There has been mention before - try a search. I think one solution is to hold the POWER button on the radio for 10 (?) seconds till it reboots itself, and that'll reset it. Maybe.

Yeah, I looked around but had not searched and I had tried holding the power button down, but I will give that another shot in the morning before I head up to the dealer.

    Thx

I found this thread - though didn't re-scan it again. No point me trying - USA entertainment system is different from ours.

Took it to the dealer today, they say they did a software update... update history says they didn’t. Went out to the car and it was still doing it.

Now they are ordering a replacement head unit. Crossing my fingers. They did however tell me that since I recently bought the car they would cover the replacement.

My radio will reboot if I am listening to music via Bluetooth and try to make a call. Sometimes. Not every time. Definitely annoying.
Toyota website has an update that is supposed to fix it. It did not fix it for me.

That update is the same as the one in my deck now, I half wondered it if was iOS 13. But seems like it’s a Bluetooth issue for sure. I have un paired my phone from the deck until my replacement arrives. Frustrating not being able to jam out or use my Alexa auto for sure though!

I am still waiting on my radio replacement. I went into the dealer today to pick up my Red touch up paint i had ordered. Asked about the radio and he did say after the IOS 13 update it seems they have quite a few radio replacements on order for it now. I wonder if the IOS update is the problem... :\

Okay, so i fixed it.. i did the tap dance and got into the secret menu, initialized the radio. Booted it up, deleted all settings and personal data. Booted up again and re connected my phone... then.. it said there was a mandatory update.. I’m still on 10192 but it downloaded “something” updated.. any my phone stays connected.. plays music, reads messages.. all of it. So happy! Now i will have to let the dealer know to cancel my deck order.

I didn’t think initializing the whole radio would work... but it did :)

So get in the car, turn car on to acc (no brake pedal) also make sure headlamps are in off position. Wait for radio to boot. On radio touch and hold audio down, then turn the headlights on and off 4 times. Radio will be in a new menu, alternately you can hold down the apps button and do the same dance. Different set of menus. I used the hidden menus to basically init the radio. Also to go from the menu by holding audio or apps, requires you to turn the car off and start over to go between either set of menus.

    Hope this helps someone else.

    Jason

I tried your sequence but the screens I got looked for car maintenance. I did not see menu choice to reset the radio.

Ok. So my radio today graduated from every once in awhile rebooting if I try to make a call while listening to music via Bluetooth to now rebooting every 30 seconds as long as my phone is connected. I can’t connect my phone at all or it’s reboot city. Wth!!!

Ok. I may be on to something. Awaiting further testing.

I tried resetting everything in my car. Secret menus. Deleted all personal data. Deleted the Entune app on my phone. Endlessly deleting Bluetooth settings.

Tried my wife’s phone to see if it was just my phone. Rebooting wasn’t an issue. Reconnected my phone. Reboot city.
Looking at her phone and mine. I have the latest update. iOS 13.3. My wife has not updated yet. the next test is to update my wife’s phone and reconnect it to see if it reboots again. I’ll update here with my findings.

With mine, I thought that was the issue too, but once I reset the radio etc. everything was fine. Strange how yours is acting though.

I did not want to continue beyond that screen and press “yes”. I was afraid I might damage something. It sounds like it needs an installation disk.
