Just want to know if this is normal or not but it happened 3x now during charging outside with temperature around 90F.
I am using a public charging station on the street. I started charging at 10:30am, temp about 82F, then when I came back after 2 hrs (temp is 90F), it stopped and didn't finished charging.
    Is that normal?
I've been using this public charging station for months and it always worked when I'm charging early morning around 7am.

Your car won't stop charging at those temps, but it might be that the appliance you hooked up to did it. That has happened to others - more commonly among cars that use DC QC's.

I charge at work which is unprotected and was over 100 several days this year. I had a full charge waiting for me:).

Might be something with the setup you are using;).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

Might be the charging station because in the morning around 7-9am, it always works for me. But if I charge during the middle of the day with outside temp around 85 - 95 F then most likely it will happen.

Is your car in the shade while charging?

Nope, direct sunlight and on the southern side of the building:cool:.

I also charge at 8 amps;).

    Maybe that’s something to try(y).

fun fact, tesla will let you dial down charging all the way to 5 amps. It could take you the better part of 4 days to fill up.

But to segue back to the question, no, the car has to be able to set the 240V limit, & only Tesla, iirc, provides that charging adjustability feature on 240V. Otherwise, the evse will deliver the maximum that the car allows . If charging 120 V yes some will allow 8 vs 12 amps.

I'll have to test that. My manual tells how to limit charging current to 8A and it doesn't say anything about it not working on 240V.
