There is a 30,000 miles cap on the free fix according to the info on the TSB.

I agree with tenmillo. At 7000 miles I received a recall notice (TSB) for two loose shock mount bolts on my 2016 Prius Three. Dealer performed the task, reported it to me, and they changed the oil and filter at the same time. Any rare disagreement I've ever had with Toyota, the customer (me), has always been correct. ...even when I didn't know what I was talking about.

Reminds me of the time we had a cracked front rotor. The car sounded like it had a broken back, every time you touched the brakes. Based on the corner the noise seemed to be emanating from, I pull the wheel and checked: yup, a radial crack, could catch my nail on it.

Told dealership what I'd seen, brought it in. They called an hour later, to say the car was ready, they'd checked it out, and there was nothing wrong with it.

For about a second I was relieved, oh that's great. Then reality kicked in, and I told them to look again, and hung up.

And went into a slow burn, and emailed the Service Manager.

Who phoned back about 1/2 hour later, apologizing, and saying he had the rotor on his desk. He was cool guy, didn't last there long though, didn't fit in.

Or another scenario, when I worked in steel detailing: we would get calls from the fabricators sometimes, questioning our drawings. I learned real quick, to take them very seriously, listen carefully, and check very thoroughly before telling them they'd got it wrong. It did happen, sometimes, but you wanted to be real sure; they were a sharp bunch.

Editorial: I know I'm repeating myself, just can't resist.
