    These'll work:

Corolla steel rim, part no: 42611-02471 (2003-2008 corolla or matrix, CE, LS, S)
steel rim lug nuts, part no: 90942-01007 (plain, open-ended, galvanized)

The have advantage of having correct hub opening, kosher Toyota rims. I got mine for $70 CDN apiece in the fall of 2010. They seem to be asking exhorbitant prices on EBay, but do yourself a favour and ask a few local dealerships, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I put a black ABS pipe end cap over the center hub (with rubber band pushed on first, to fill the slight gap). That holds through winter, never any problems, and protects the hub from rusting. Also, the lug nuts are just open ended, but I find putting a drop of light oil on the tip of each one keeps them from rusting. Say every coupla months.

    Yeah it's compatible.

Well having said that, you'd want to trial-fit the rim, it is a dfferent generation. But it works a charm on our 3rd gen.

I'm still on the 2010 purchased X-Ice lol, only about 85K kms on the car.

I have steel wheels from tire rack on my Prime. They sold TPMS sensors as an option, but I didn't opt for them. The hub opening is roughly correct, but it has more tolerance than a factory alloy wheel. I get extremely slight vibration on the highway, so I wonder if it's that, or maybe my tires just aren't balanced perfectly. It isn't bad enough for me to do anything about it.

I bought MB ICON 15 inch alloy wheels and Michelin Xice3 tires together from Discount Tire for my 2017 PRIME last year without TPMS. At sales price and rebetes, MB ICON alloy wheels (final price at ~$60 each) were less expensive than plain black steel wheels they had in stock. Buying wheels and tires as a package, you can also save on mounting and balancing cost that are included free. That's if you are willing to install them on your car DIY. My final cost including everything (tires, wheel, mounting, balancing, rubber valve stems. lug nuts, tax, and free shipping) came to be less than $500 total. I use external TPMS on my car.

Pick up the phone and try a few local dealerships for the Corolla rims. They're head-and-shoulders better than TireRack one-size-fits-all. Or don't, your call.

Again, picked mine up (in 2010) for $70 apiece, which is about $52.50 US.

You get a rim with hub opening that fits, and 5 lug nut holes. Some of the generic rims have 10 lug not holes, look like swiss cheese. And just an oversized, lipless hub opening, You can do the the ABS end cap trick with those, so in a NY winter or two you'll be looking rusted up hubs. That's going to happen anyway, but the end caps help a lot. Paint them with boiled linseed oil or similar will help some.

The rims tire rack sent me are not one size fits all, they are specific to this Toyota hub size. They have the correct hub bore, and 5 bolt holes. That said, they are probably a bit lower quality than factory rims (I mentioned the tolerance in the hub bore), and if I were to buy again I would probably go with Corolla steel wheels.

At least aftermarket steel wheels (probably) aren't a safety issue. I'm not a fan of aftermarket alloy wheels because many of them are built and tested to lower standards than factory. For example they might be cast instead of forged, and they probably don't undergo as much testing and quality control specific to the vehicle (for example crash testing). I've heard of aftermarket alloy wheels cracking, but that's pretty rare with OEM ones. Some aftermarket alloy wheels are probably perfectly fine, or maybe better than OEM. Problem is there's no good way to tell.

ASAIK, they do. Are you talking about Gen3 OEM wheels? Gen3 touring trims have optional 17inch rims, but they also fit on PRIME, if that's what you are asking.
