Is C1241 the hybrid battery or 12V Battery? C1241 means c1241 high or low battery positive voltage because I got a red triangle on my car this morning and can’t figure it out thanks. 09 Prius.

I tested the voltage and it was to super high do you think it was overcharging the 12v? It tested at 14.2V? Can I discharge it to 12.7V? I have a discharger. The Feels Hot When I Touch It

That's all normal. You need to test the 12V battery with the Prius turned off. Your discharger feels hot?

If the 12v battery is that hot, then the battery is most likely failing and has at least one bad cell.

Like @valde3 kindly mentioned above, test the battery when the vehicle isn't charging it (eg. OFF).

The reading of 14.2 volts is because you were testing the battery while the vehicle was "ready" or "on".

You'll most likely be replacing it, so take the battery to an auto parts chain store and have them test it, either in or out of the vehicle.

Did they check the battery health before replacement?

Ok, assuming the new battery is within normal voltage range [Step #2 in the above workup, and the manual claims standard is 10-14v], continuing on to the next step (#3), on page 6 of 8 in the above workup for DTC C1241, it tells you to now "CHECK BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY".

Is your discharger still getting hot?

So you have normal charge voltage (14.2v) and 12v battery gets hot. That has to be a bad 12v battery. Just replace it and your Prius is fixed.

New battery has to also be bad or you measured the voltage wrong.

Check the charging voltage. If that's correct and battery is getting hot then it has to be a bad battery.
