An ECO score question: for a year and a half or so (since discovering that by obsessively following the driving coach I could do my 40-mile round trip commute all on EV in good weather) I routinely got 99 or sometimes 100 on the ECO dashboard ECO score. Until the middle of December, when the ECO score became pegged at 87 maximum no matter how perfectly I might drive. The only thing that happened at the same time was a regular check-up service at the dealer (oil change + inspection, basically), plus replaced the original tires.
    Dec 17: 40-ish mile drive, 186MPG, 96 ECO
Dec 18: dealer service, 45-ish mile drive, 157MPG, 85 ECO (reported the known problem of old worn tires)
Dec 19: new tires at a tire shop, not the dealer, probably 120+ miles drive, 72MPG, 62 ECO
ECO never above 87 since then.

Do you get dinged if the dealer reports some service needs to be done and you don't have the dealer do that service? Is it a total coincidence?

Hard to keep those oranges and flowers with one score tied behind your back.

The difference between the Dec. 17 & 18 MPGs sounds like about what you'd expect from a slightly longer drive.

New tires are often a big hit. And if you're changing from LLR tires to regular ones, it's an even bigger hit. And check your tire inflation. The shops don't generally pump them as full as we Prius drivers like. Higher rolling resistance will make you push harder onthe "go pedal" and lower your scores.

Not knowing your temperatures, I can't say if that''s part of it, but it could be. Then again, this isn't your first winter, so you probably already know that.

On getting dinged, I'd think that would depend on what you declined, but the "ding" would not involve sabotage. Unless they were hoping to go out of business.

On a side note, high eco scores are generally conducive to improved fuel economy. But in my experience, that's more true in HV. In EV mode, there are thngs I do that hammer my eco score but improve my m/kWh quite a bit.

    Dear Jerry,
This has happened to me too but I luckily caught the cause: the service person had changed my driving mode from eco to normal. While you may have already checked I thought it worth a mention and I hope it helps.

Thanks. I have no problem, but that's a great point for @morgan.cl. One more possibility to check.

What if the wrong viscosity oil was used?

Tires, oil, etc all would affect MPG or MPkWh, right but not the ECO score? But no I haven't looked to see what driving mode the car defaults to now; it's been in eco mode for so long I'd forgotten there were other possibilities.

Same thing happened to me and I was equally puzzled. The change is subtle and shows up as the background color on the display (green vs blue) as well as the illuminated icon ECO mode not being present. Unlike "Power Mode" and "ECO mode", there is no icon displayed in "Normal Mode."

I think this is my first 100/100 on the echo dashboard. It was during my 11 mile commute to work and then off to lunch. Still loving my prime after two years.

This is a test, to see if I could get a picture added to a Post. I guess I did it...
Now, I'll have to try another one, to see if the first was just an accident.

Of course it had nothing to do with getting Gold status . . . :D

Evidently, the iPhone (and iPad) apps are not as well made as the Android one. My MPG history does not have any numbers over the monthly histogram bars, unless they are less than 100. They are positioned just on top of the bar as it rises up during the month (assuming that you are driving in hybrid mode, and your mileage is less than 100; then, the number gets truncated as it rises past the 100 level.) The ECO history does not have this problem, since it cannot rise above 100.

it seems like I remember someone else talking about some similar issues either way back in this thread or a different one. The current version of the Android app will no longer allow you to take screen prints, due to its security policy. Crazy stuff all around.

Will the sheep take some time off to self-isolate and shelter in place somewhere? I fear for their health.

It’s the beginning of the month and all the scores reset. Just drove to work this morning, 10 mile trip EV only. When I parked the car and turned it off it showed an echo score of 98/100. When I checked the Entune app the eco-driving score was 44/100. How did this happen?

This is commonly called score evaporation. It happens when you have a slow connection . . . . . . swamp land anyone?

Seriously, there are several factors that get applied to the score outside of the score on the dash. I posted a list of them previously, but using anything other than ECO mode will do it, like Normal or PWR mode. There are others which I can't recall at the moment.

Drove home this afternoon, keeping everything in the 90s. When I got home I checked the echo score again. Now it’s reading 61/100. I have a very fast Wi-Fi connection at home when I checked the echo dashboard. I always keep the car in Eco mode. Also, driving EV only. Still puzzling. I need to go find that list of reasons you posted.
