I bought a fob for my 2008 Prius off ebay.

I programmed it with the chicken dance and everything seemed to work fine.

I used the protocol on this thread.
How to Program a New Key Fob for Full SKS Functionality | PriusChat

I programmed it with Procedure A and Procedure B. I had a couple failures but was able to get through both with what I thought was a success.

After programming, the original/master key no longer opens the doors.

Did one of the failures somehow disable the SKS? I ran through Procedure B again to see if that would help.
The master key still cycles the locks one time at step 9a which I think means it is still recognized as the master.
I know the battery in the master is still good or step 9a would not work. I have also tried unlocking with the SKS switch (under the steering wheel) on and off.

I then tried this procedure I found here to disable/enable SKS with no luck. I tried it a few times and think I got the timing right, but I did not notice any effect at all.

What could cause the unlock button not to work (on both new and master key)?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Just to confirm, with the button pressed in, SKS is disabled. With the button out, SKS is enabled.

Is your "Key" button in the OUT position?

    Problem solved.

It occurred to me that I could determine if it was the key or the car by using my second (has a shorted alarm button) master key. I changed the battery in the 2nd battery and it still functioned well enough to unlock the doors.

I then changed the battery in the master key I was having trouble with.

Long story short, the key started working after changing the battery. For some reason, the battery was strong enough for the car to recognize the pressing of lock and unlock at the same time, but not strong enough to complete the chicken dance.

After changing the battery I ran through Procedure B again and the new fob worked as well.

    Thanks
