I was thinking the same. Factoring in the time it spends tapering off the charge near the top, this is probably about the right ratio.

Page 123 in my manual. However, if you don't know how to change it, it's unlikely to have been changed. Unless maybe the dealer did it so he could charge it on an outlet that was also in use by other stuff.

    @Salamander_King:
I programmed my schedule over two years ago, as soon as I got the car, so I don't remember what it said without a schedule. With a schedule, it gives the time of the next charge and offers the "charge now" option if you hit that button.

I can't find any references in the manual as to what is displayed if there is no charging schedule. I guess someone without a schedule would have to tell us or someone would have to volunteer to delete their schedule, check on it, and then reenter the schedule. :(

Did you have the car set to climate prep? That can add a lot of time to the charging when using 120V.

The car can be set to warm/cool the car before your scheduled departure time. The problem comes from the strategy the car uses to do that when connected to 120V. On my 2018 (I haven't tested the 2021 in this regard), it will get near the end of the charge and then use the traction battery to heat/cool the car, which means it needs another 15 or 30 minutes to charge back to 100%. By that time the heating/cooling is mostly lost and the whole thing was an exercise in futility.

    Didn't see that exactly

    But I did see this

Not too sure if that's the same thing or not but I turned it OFF

I should note I have no charging times set

Not the same thing. You probably should leave that on since it can get pretty cold up there. Having it on means that if it's cold when you shut down it'll ask you if you want the car to heat the traction battery before it charges it. If you don't have that on, it won't ask and you could find yourself charging a battery that's colder than it should be. Professor John Kelly explains the heater starting near the beginning of this video.

Climate prep is for the climate in your cabin. And it's as thoughtlessly programmed as @Salamander_King claims (as is the battery heater, since it should always be enabled so you can decide for yourself). Even with L2 charging which could easily run the HVAC while charging the battery, the cabin temperature has reverted to its previous level before the battery finishes charging because it stops charging while it's running the HVAC.

So how do I turn it off or check because I didn't see an option for it

There has to be a reason this is taking so long to charge lol

While it's charging, what does the display show when you open the driver's door?

    No

I really haven't also looked at any of the displays while it's charging

Try it. Just open the driver's door whiles it's charging and take a look.

If there is no charge schedule set, it will display next charging event: charge when next plugged in. (Somewhat paraphrased.)

I believe this is the message the OP was seeing and it is totally normal, although the first time I noticed it I was freaked out until I figured out what it was actually saying!

    There is no charging event

When the door is open this is all that comes up

Under scheduled events when I try to add one I see that option as being off by default

With that being said what does this all mean?

I was wanting to see what it says when you first plug in on an empty battery. It should say something in the neighborhood of 5.5 hours.

Mine always displayed 6hr 10min when I plugged in after depleting the EV range, but it probably took less than 6 hours to complete the charge.

I'm wondering if there's a voltage issue at work, or old wiring/outlet with higher than normal resistance.
