How screwed am I? Battery issue.

    The lowest clutch setting on most screwdriver guns is equal to the torque for the terminals, but make sure to check... Or another way to do it is one clutch setting lower than what it took to unbolt the terminals. Also make sure to double-check with hand torquing each terminal a tiny bit when you're done because there's so many connections you have to make that it's easy to forget one...

    I looked up the Inch/Ounce models. I'm not sure those would be in the budget, or I'm missing something? The only thing I've found so far for torque specs is this post.

    Do these seem correct? I can handle foot pounds. :)

    My new modules will be here Next Tuesday or so. :)

    My new drill driver will be here Wednesday. I think I've managed to get all the tools I need since I decided I wouldn't need any in the truck, and left my tools at home. (new company policy, we can't do any mechanical work on our own trucks now.)

    I'll go over to the motel, and use their cart to move things between the car and the room, and make a workbench using the computer desk.

    I can't wait to get all this done. :)

    It poured rain on my day off (Google pics of Detroit flooded for more info) and I didn't think it would be wise to take things apart. I put it off until next week, but I think I've got everthing I may need except for something to clean possible corrosion off of the terminal bolts.

    OK. I got the new modules put in. It wasn't too difficult except whoever put it all together last time used all the torque on the bolts holding the seats and battery pack in place... and I came out with a few extra bolts. I've got the last few panels in place loosely, as I need to get some clips when I get home.

    I also skipped putting in the sensor wires somehow and had to go back through and retorque everything after I got them in place. My fan was also suspiciously clean, dusty, but really clean for its age.

    The car seems happy with the new setup.

    Thank you all for the help. It was really awesome. I got pointed right towards what I needed and got the problem solved efficiently and effectively.

    A couple months ago I helped a friend find an 06 for ridiculously cheap and when I was fixing it up I got excited when I realized the torque on the rear seat back bolts were too high because it was a sign someone had pulled the battery pack. And sure enough, my buddy won the lottery and had a nearly brand new battery pack in his car.

    A year and a half in and it's still running great. I still get great mileage, and haven't had any issues with the batteries.
