    Thanks for posting g this thread. I saw it and thought I never changed the belt nor did I know if the previous owner had changed it. I have 185300 miles on her. I decided to change the belt. The old one was cracked and brindle. No signs at all.

    I really am grateful that the experience I went through helped someone else avoid the situation altogether. That made it worth it.

    Be aware you must check the radiator level by taking the radiator cap off not by looking in the over flow plastic container. Rad could be empty and overflow full.
    Take the black plastic cover off the top of the rad the cap is under there.
    Leave the screws out if that cover the hood traps it closed so it will easy and quick to check level.
