Dave , Moving your processor cable to the passenger side should address that issue

The only cables that are plugged in is the Ai-net and the bass level control cable. Both on the right of the car. The whine is very faint but still can be heard with no music and driving slow. The processor cable is on the left but left unplugged because it gets much louder. So I make adjustments and unplug it. I wonder if I can ad shielding to the Ai-net cable where it goes around the battery.

Aftermarket of course. That's why I'm using the Ai-net cable to get the signal to the processor and control the changer.

Then it's strange that you would have interference noise. Did you try unplugging the changer to see if that's the source??

I haven't. The control cable is plugged in but audio is taken from the optical out.

I figured the original would be best but I did have hooked up the the metal bar behind the dash first. Was the same. You hear it on acceleration and de-acceleration charging.

Any audio cables should be ran on the driver side.
Any and all power cables should go on passenger side.

Don't the hybrid battery cables run on the driver's side?

The Hybrid cables run for a short distance on the passenger side then go Into the body of the car. You can see this in my post #25 photo which shows the large orange wire going from the Hybrid battery to the hole in the body under the rear seat area. The 12 volt cables run down the passenger side of the car IMG_1009.JPG

I agree, sometimes it is as simple as accessing a new ground.

A New ground is the simplest thing to try besides lowering the gain on the amp to lower background noise

It's grounded directly to the battery.

Gains not set too high. But I can try it. Takes good volume off the deck even at 4 volts pre signal to crank it.
