Hello! It looks like that I am having the same problem as this thread and I was wondering can guide me on where to find the battery?

When I start the car I can see that the front panel is ‘booting up’ but the stereo/map panel doesn’t light up. Sometimes both are up but the ready / speedometer is not up.

I am now at the point to fixing our older cars and this is the first issue that I am having to deal with the Prius… any advice is gratefully appreciated.

The 12v battery is in the right rear under the mats and a cover.

Thank you for the reply. I did finally find it. I went to a car part store and they did test it but didn’t show any issues. The battery is from 2018 though. I may still have it tested by my Toyota mechanic to confirm.

Does the car drive? If not your not getting Ready mode. Verify the 12v voltage in the car. It should be 12.0v or better before Ready mode. Verify the brake switch is working.

Read codes with a better scanner that can access all the communication busses. Check fuses on items that stay dead. Yours sounds intermittent which would not be a fuse.

Fuse layouts are in the manual, one interior one in the engine compartment. When checking fuses, replace them one at a time to avoid mixing them up. There are fusible links and a hard to access 125amp dc to dc fuse as well.

Sometimes it pays to get a dealer diagnosis.

125 amp visible from top of engine compartment fuse box. The 125 amp is half down in the box but can be clearly seen with a good light.
