OK I checked the AM2 fuse and it's fine. NO evidence of rats either. If you have another idea, I am all ears, otherwise to the dealer it goes...along with my rectum.

Others that are more familiar with this generation will tell you. This could end up being an inverter problem, and it'll be free to fix

Free to fix would make me happy as hell. Thanks for the help.

But right now I'm suspecting a fuel delivery problem. But we'll see. Reading codes will give a better idea

Well, I took it to the dealership and they are looking at it right now. I will post a response with the cause and solution when I know it.

Alright! It looks like the power inverter box (The big silver box under the hood). The repair guy said it was totally shot and needed to be replaced. Thankfully, it was covered under the warrantee so the $5000 bill is now $0. Thank God!

I am having the same issue, it was saying "Check Hybrid System" for about a week and we made an appointment at the dealer, but it wouldn't start yesterday so I had it towed to the dealer for its appointment.
They worked on it all day but they said it wasn't giving any diagnostic codes, and they can't find the problem. But it drives for them. What to do? Just take it back and see if it does it again?

Did you get your issue resolved? Sometimes a failed power inverter pump causes these issues. Also check Am2 fuse

I have been reading, and I had the problem as his, and when resetting by the negative cable it will start again, then comes back on, til I turn the vehicle off. Repeats the process. Most morning after sitting, it will start fine, but has the triangle, VSC, and break system light after a few miles. Have to reset to start it back. I had HV and 12v battery replaced? Any suggestions! It’s my only vehicle so have been doing the reset for about a week, works each time to start the vehicle, I know not a good idea. Only option at this time. I have been to different shops, clearly they don’t know much about Prius, I was told HV battery, then transmission, then 12v battery? I’ll take any suggestions or tips on what to check?

The problem your car has lies in many possible places.

    1. HV battery
    2. Transaxle
    3. Inverter
    4. AC compressor

Maybe the HV battery has a leaking module that can be changed out, or maybe the inverter is bad and that can be changed out. These 2 are the easier of the problems to have. But you really have to go through a diagnostic tree of symptoms and figure out the origin of the issue.

The more common of the 4 causes listed, is the HV battery having a leaking module.

I blew the engine on my Prius, rod put 4 holes in the block including going into the AC compressor, I just finished installing another engine, and it starts then shuts off, giving me a fault that says check hybrid system, engine not starting, but it does start for a few seconds, 10-20 then shuts off.
I do have the AC compressor disconnected because it is damaged on top cover and electronics board, possibility that it shorted something out when the rod went into to it.
My question is do I need the AC compressor plugged in to not have this issue.
