Could you give me some guidance on how to check which one is at fault?

What do you mean by which is at fault? Do you mean which one of the 4 INF codes 612 -615?

If so, you use Techstream to look in the freeze frame data and it will tell you.

The first image shows that you have INF codes 526 and 612 which points you to a HV leak in your HV battery area (purple shaded area in the image below).

Attached is the inspection procedure for P0AA6. Go to the section which details what to do for INF 612.

You've got 526 and 612, right there on the first screenshot you attached (the freeze frame). Look at the "detail code" rows.

The 526 is the code it sets the first time it notices the leak, and hasn't noticed where it's coming from. That's a note to itself to pay extra attention the next time you start the car, and it goes "aha! caught it in the battery!" and sets the 612 code.

That code means the voltage leak is somewhere among the components back inside the battery case. Battery goop leaking from a module to the case, the system main relays, the precharge resistor, the battery ECU, the cables between them ... almost all stuff back there inside that case. The repair manual directs you (with a 612) to steps 5 through 17 of a workup section (that's the 2006 edition, anyway) to pin down which of those things it is.

Some other leak codes can be worse news. With this code, you've got at least a sporting chance the leak is caused by something you can just clean up.

Yes the information should be ok for the 2007 and both files come from the 2006 repair manual.

If you want the full repair manual do a search in the Gen 2 forums and look for a post where a member gives a download link for the manual.

Thanks for the input. Now I have concerns about whether I have to do balancing of voltages for modules because I will be disconnecting the hv battery and therefore might have to charge/recharge process as I detach the hv battery in order to find out what was the cause for the codes 526 and 612.

You don’t necessarily need to balance each module just because you have disassembled the battery. You may need to, and then again you may not need to.

You haven’t provided any information for us to say one way or the other.

If your battery was otherwise working fine, I’d just clean up the cause of the HV leakage and reassemble it.

If you have damaged modules that are leaking, they will need to be replaced and that could get tricky, but you need to match a replacement module to your existing and you may need to also balance it. For that you will need at least one RC charger and a method to discharge the module.

Does anyone have pictures or a diagram of all of these Hybrid Battery Voltage System connections?

I started taking things apart and have already found that the previous owner forgot to plug in the cooling fan. So I am thinking it's a good idea to check all the connections before tearing apart the battery.

I only have P0aa6 with 526 and no other sub codes. Where should i look in to. this is 07 prius and 14 battery blocks were reading 15.8 plus or minus but roughly same.

The car doesnt go in ready mode.

When you see only inf code 526, that means the car has only first detected the leakage, and has not yet been able to refine its location.

The usual thing to do is to power the car off, and power it back on again (do not clear the P0AA6 code). When the car next powers on and sees there is a saved P0AA6-526, it takes the extra steps needed to isolate the leak to one of four areas, and after that you should also have one of the INF codes 611, 612, 613, or 614.

If the car is unable to set a more specific code when powered on a couple more times, then you just have to go through the repair manual troubleshooting steps for all of the possible areas. But ordinarily, you would just give the car its chance to set the more specific code. Then you can focus your diagnosis efforts in that area.

The car doesn’t start. I have only tried removing the hybrid battery safety plug and waited 3 minutes before putting it back in. But still nothing.

We don't need starting. Only going to IG-ON state. The same state it was in for reading the P0AA6-526. Needs to go there again to produce the second, more specific INF code.
