Why do I only get around 380 miles range for my Prius 2020 XLE AWD?

    Sounds like you are driving at country-dirt road with a roof box on top.

    i'm not aware of any testing that has shown slow acceleration to be less frugal than fast acceleration.

    there is an efficiency curve for an engine though, if you can find it.

    iirc, it was around 2,000 rpm on the gen2 engine, part of a pulse and glide study

    It looks like my alignment is indeed off as suspected.

    I believe that correcting rear alignment requires shims (It did in the Gen2 Prius). A good alignment shop should be able to fix your Prius.

    I got my alignment fixed for $157 from Rogers Toyota of Lewiston, ID.

    Wayne Gerdes (CleanMPG) was saying, when accelerating, sweet spot on the HSD is 1/2 to 3/4. At least on level roads; on hills you’ve got to go into the red power zone to keep the speedo moving up.

    If you are only getting 47 MPG, you need some serious training on methods of hypermiling......if you really desire to improve. There are tons of tips and techniques here on Priuschat and also on cleanmpg. Your car is capable of about 80 mpg....
