Have fun! But for rotating tires, you only need to raise one side at a time. The manual calls for front to back rotation, not a criss cross. That makes it a lot easier.

I just put the whole car on safety stands, raise with front and rear jacking points. Appreciate it’s easier on 3rd gen.

I wonder why, maybe they didn't want to go into the depth of explaining directional vs non-directional tread patterns. The Australian version advises front back, but the back should cross at the front.

I don't think that would hurt anything, but I also don't think it helps enough to be worth it. This article from https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=43 might be informative.

As for my Yokohama Avids, I have about 40,000 miles on them and still have about 7/32" of the original 12/32" tread left just doing front to back.

    It's based on tread pattern:

"Directional treads are designed to perform in the direction denoted on the tire sidewall only. They must always be rotated front to rear — no matter the vehicle they are installed on — so the direction of the rotation does not change." https://www.bridgestoneamericas.com/en/company/safety/maintaining-tires/tire-rotation

    Does Toyota Australia say that?

That's used to be the "standard" rotation pattern for most cars in the US going back decades.

Then it seemed like (single) "directional" tires were a thing for a number of years. Couldn't do the crossing side to side with those.

Now I often see tires with "inside" and " outside". I still go with front to back unless the manufacturer wants something else.

The manual says so, can't find a PDF, here's a scan of the particular page.

I use the front jack points behind the bumper to jack the front up. There very strong.

The jump points on the bottom edges of the fenders are really easy to bend.

Once the front is jacked up I slide a car ramp under the front wheel. Do that on both sides when I'm done I just back the car off the ramps. I cant drive up on the ramps they slide on the concrete driveway.

You know what? It just occurred to me that the trolley jack comes with a short lever, I think it is for this precise purpose, to get it started in tight spots than slot in the long lever for more leverage.

I had that thought as well at first... The half-llength lever wasn't short enough to make enough of a difference.

Happened to watch this lately. One of the final tests is ability of jack to start lifting when rolled way under.

You are right, just tried, did not change anything. There's a safety recall on the jack, I can return it, but there's no replacement in the price range can solve that problem.
