Hello - I have a 2014 regular Prius with 253,000 miles. This model has a vent next to the rear seat on the passenger side of the car. The vent is supposedly to ventilate the big battery. There is a plastic "grill" over the vent, and then a screen under the grill. I have noticed that the screen under the grill has lint covering about half of the screen, I have not figured out a way to remove the grill and vacuum the lint off the screen. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get to that screen and clean it?

Easy if you remove adjacent trim and the bolt hidden below the grill, at the end of the seat.

Just search for 'prius clean hybrid battery fan' and a bunch of videos will pop up. NutzAboutBolts is one of the better videos. The first step to get to the fan is pulling out the vent.

I'd recommend cleaning the fan when you get the time. If your vent is clogged, your fan is probably clogged too. But just initially cleaning the vent should take you about 5 min, once you figure out how to get to the bolt at the end of the seat. Either pop the seat out, our use a long extension.
