I replaced the driver side CV axle on my 2006 prius. However after completion the car doesnt move when I put in drive and rev the engine the traction control light comes on. I noticed in a thread about cv axle replacement Patrick Wong recommended disconnecting the battery before starting so "you dont induce skid control ecu DTC" so how do I correct this condition?(the battery was connected while I repaired the axle didnt see his post until afterward) It was driving perfectly other than the bad axle before hand no DTC codes.

Try disconnecting the 12v battery for 30 seconds now and see if the problem clears. Otherwise you will need to use a Prius aware ODB2 test environment to clear the code.

Other things to consider (I do not know for certain if these would cause your symptoms) Are you confident the speed sensor for that wheel is undamaged and plugged in? Is it still peeking through the hole in the dust shield to view the tone ring?

Thanks Jeff, I did try unplugging the battery for a day while I recharged the 12v to make sure it was up. I till try to get tech stream up again. havent had it going in a long time. I have a BT dongle that worked before.

Are you sure the axle is good, and all the splines lined up? Do you feel anything when putting it into D? Sounds more mechanical than electrical.
