    Hi Everyone,

I am currently getting a P3190 (current fault) and P3030 (pending fault). The car turns on but can not be driven. (No 'Ready' mode, I tried putting it into Drive but only goes into Neutral (couldnt get back to Park until I shut it off...scary). Anyone have an idea of what the issue might be here. Many thanks in advance!

I thought I would update this. The shop said that oil had been overfilled, and it overflowed into intake manifold and throttle body. Throttle body and airflow sensor was ruined. $790 bill. They are fixing it now. Hopefully this solves the problems.

Well, a dirty throttle body and MAF sensor certainly can result in P3190 (with "poor engine power" or a "crank - no start" condition). I consider cleaning both to be oft overlooked maintenance.

However, it is "normal" to see oil puddled in the intake manifold on a Gen2 Prius. That has nothing to do with "overfilling the oil". (it results from the Atkinson cycle engine frequently shutting off and spinning without combustion). And that oil won't "ruin" either part.

I am skeptical that there is/was any (permanent) fault with the TB or MAF. They can fail but it's pretty rare, and for both of them to go at the same time?

here are the pictures they sent me ... is $200-300 a reasonable price to fix the corroded pins?

Now they are saying that the Battery ECU is bad, and quoted me $450 for a replacement. Anyone have any ideas?

a local mech might replace it with salvage for much less, idk.

what i do know is that they are throwing parts and labor at it without following the service manual troubleshooting tree, and you should find another shoppe.

update: they said that the mass air flow detector did not have to be replaced. They did however replace the throttle body.
