What is this wire for? P0A4C and P0A4D codes and mice chewing

I’ve lurked on priuschat for years, thanks for all the posts and advice I’ve gotten from people.

My gen 2, 2008 wouldn’t start one morning: triangle of death, obd2 says P0A4C and P0A4D. Looking under the hood I found some wires chewed through.

In the pics the red circle shows the connector I’m asking about. The yellow circles show where the mice brought their own food instead of chewing on the wires!

My question is pretty simple, what is that connector connecting to? My first thought is to replace that connector since there’s enough wire to pull into a new connector.

That's attached to your throttle body If you just undo the three bolts of your air cleaner and lift it up you can see that clearly I believe that is your throttle body or part of the throttle body anyway undo the plug there's a tool you can use to push the pins out of the plug and there are other plugs you can go take out of other cars cut enough back make a splice or you can buy new pins and solder and crimp them on depending upon how your mind looks at this some people can't crimp squeeze and that sort of thing they believe they have to solder everything and make it water tight and waterproof and all of that so whatever your methodology is no issue I have tons of those plugs right here.

Oh I see - that plug is part number 90980–11162. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll report back once it's replaced. The error codes being reported are about the generator resolver, not the throttle body or TPS.

I'm not even sure what the generator resolver is I didn't think we had a generator our inverter charges the 12 volt and charges the HV battery I guess that could be looked at as a generator of some sort. But that big gray plug that's essentially your carburetor if you will on this car or throttle body and those plugs should be plentiful you should be able to walk into an LKQ and cut as many as you like well as long as it's off of Prius actually the plugs look the same as my 1ZZ01 Corolla throttle body plug The plug might actually fit and have the same pins The wire colors would be different of course but some of these plugs you can even buy in a bag with the pins.

When Toyota says "generator" on the Prius they mean MG1, when they say "motor" they mean MG2. Each one has a resolver.

The resolver reports the exact angular position of the (MG1 or MG2, respectively) rotor at all times, so the car can do the math it needs to do with their magnetic fields.

Without getting that rotation info from the resolvers, you're not going anywhere. :(

The resolver connections are some skinny wires you'll find plugging into the transmission. It seems like your furry friends have been at work more widely than your throttle body wires. You'll just have to find their artistry on the resolver wires and fix those too.

Are the resolver wires those little tiny wires You can one of them said of them you can take the cover off the transmission and the wires go inside and disappear they're real skinny and then they have a female plug on the outside of the transmission it's gray I think there's two or three of them I just had them undone on a '06 that I was taking apart and saw these thin wires with these clear plugs on the back of the gray ones when they penetrate the transmission until I guess you could unplug them and replace the plugs or God knows what got it
