Dash not coming on?

    The AC vents are not guaranteed to be saved by being careful or using heat guns, its about chemistry of plastic and environmental conditions. Around here, about 1 out of 20 Prius in the junkyard have an AC vent that is in tact and the one i got was a 2005 so it didnt fit my 2007 without modification. One in particular I pulled out of the junk car, laid it down on the ground, turned around, and when i turned back it had cracked apart right there on the ground.

    You can get replacements pretty reasonable on Ebay these days .

    Are you talking about the vent itself or the molding around the vent?

    Yes, those. They are made from plastic that's about the thickness of a potato chip, and after enough years in the sun they are just as brittle.
