on the bZ4X... I hear, on full charge, soon as you turn on the A/C it drops to 85% or so.. is this true?

That displayed value is nothing but an estimate, one which has been revised via software update since rollout. I'm seeing around 4.0 mi/kWh for day to day running around with A/C. From a recent 340-mile round trip mostly highway with A/C, I got (calculated from charger measurement) an average of 3.56 mi/kWh. That efficiency from 65 kWh usable capacity calculates to 231 miles of available range. Since my AWD with 20" wheels is rated for 222 miles, what does that tell you about estimates?

Back on the topic of hitches... I had been looking into upgrading from the hanger rack I've been using for the last decade to a platform type. Labor Day sales dropped the price 20%, so I pounced on this:

Looks like if you go to uhauls website they have them cheaper like $750 installed - I did the hitch install on my 2019 myself - wasn't easy about 2.5 hours or so. I did need some replacement body panel fasteners as some broke when removing.

That's crazy when you can get a PriusOverlanding.com hitch which was built with the Prius owner in mine and install it yourself for less than $450 shipped to your door.

You know, the PriusOverlanding.com hitch is angled a few degrees towards the sky which eliminates the need for a hitch riser? Also it was the first hitch to be said can handle up to 500lbs tongue weight? Next thing you know, other manufacturers started following suit...

Yep due to only one option on market for gen 5 - put a hitch on my gen 4 for $85 (a draw-tite purchased off marketplace that someone never got to install). Install took a few hours.

Yeah, I don't remember the exact cost, but both my Gen2 (which I no longer have) and my Gen3 (MY2010, which I still have) have hitches, and I'm pretty sure they were ~$200 or so.

Maybe I need to wait a few months and see if prices drop a little.

Doing the same for now - but waiting is also becoming inconvenient...

I should have the new to-me 3D scanner by this weekend. The plan is to scan the things I need to finish the 2.0 swap and AWD conversion into my 2013 Prime before the weekend is over.

now... should all go as I expect and the scans are precise, I plan on acquiring a Gen 5 to 3D scan everything outside, inside and under bumper covers. This would allow for the Gen 5 trailer hitches to be fully tested before the 29th and ready to ship from fulfillment no later than the 16th of the following month... for those of you who want in on one, the initial release price will be very attractive!

Pretty nice that it's hidden. I'll get one sooner or later, will be nice to not have to load the bikes on the roof.

yeah I was going to go that route but feel like roof racks add to road noise and reduce mileage - everytime I've had them I left them on permanently....

I use a Sea Sucker and have put some good miles on it. It's not really that noisy but there is definitely a solid hit on the MPGs.

I actually just sent Curt a note earlier today.

As you saw from others, Torklift makes one (which can also be bought through your local U-Haul dealer.) I had a Torklift on my Clarity (though a different style.) It worked well for me. Full disclosure though, they gave it to me for free in exchange for me writing up a review and documenting the install on the Clarity forums.

I asked Curt last fall about a hitch for the 2023. They said they will make them if they get enough requests or as soon as there are enough Gen 5's out in the wild.

anyone find a way to cut the rear underside diffuser to fit it back on with the torklift hitch installed - the instructions basically leave it off after install.

There is 3/8 -½" of interference. They both won't fit. The hitch crossbar is lower than the plastic piece diffuser.

High resolution .PDF. Should show the interference I'm referencing. You can see the center two bumper tabs are pointing downward indicating the receiver is below 'level' where the diffuser was/is.

Yep, I was wondering about that and if a cut was possible (seemed like it would be just wasnt sure where to begin) - I spoke with torklift and they said their engineer was ok leaving it off and that would be included in new instructions...ultimately your not looking under there but it looks like it was there for aero originally and to prevent stuff getting behind bumper - I thought there may
