    loving this thread.

I have a wrecked 2007 Prius in my yard but have been keeping it for years in case I ever need to grab the engine, brake stuff or whatever. Only the rear end got hit and it flipped over a couple of times but the front is perfecto.

Not started yet, so not going to start a new thread
I am at work so cannot measure anything but do you think a 6x8 tarp would be a good size to cover up the engine compartment once I remove the hood?
Also, once I disconnect the battery, suggestions for keeping the back hatch from latching? Anyone have a quick tricks that are effective? Tried a blanket and locked around the blanket.

I just push the latch closed with my finger, any time I want to be able to lower the hatch without having it latch, whether I'm disconnecting the battery or not. Turns off the dome light (once pushed to the second click) and prevents the hatch from latching. When you're done, just press the hatch release button normally and you're good to go.
