    Our '17 Prime has 375k miles. The one time I asked Toyota the cost of a new battery, they told me around 11k. This was years ago.

    Our battery is fine, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the actual cost to replace a battery or has known of a Prime needing it replaced.

    When we replaced the battery on our 2007 Prius at around 485k miles, it cost 3k at Toyota.

    that is impressive in both cases. the problem is that all the prime batteries are still under warranty unless they exceed the mileage limit.
    i don't recall anyone having to replace one yet. might have been a couple i missed.
    even the pip batteries are still going strong

    @JMalmsteen ,

    We developed the first-gen plug-in Prius replacement battery a few years ago, and we're currently beta testing a higher-capacity lithium battery for the Prius Prime. It's expected to be ready for sale by the end of this year.

    Here’s the link to the first-gen plug-in Prius battery:

    That quote makes sense. I was told 11k many years ago. With inflation and installation, that number seems probable. With the mileage our car has, I would not replace the battery unless there was a much less expensive option.

    Do you partner with people who replace the battery? What kind of warranty is there on it? I'm not looking to DIY this.

    I put 50k miles a year on this car. I do have the "backup Lexus" we just got. That car only had 14k miles put on it in three years. It's going to be in for a surprise when it learns about its future travels :)
