yeah, I think they know how to resurface if it doesn’t need it. I’ll probably ask them to clean the mating surface so it’ll bite the headgasket nicely so it doesn’t cause a leak. I’ll let you know how it’ll go in a couple of days.

You do NOT have to disconnect that AC lines, just move the compressor out of the way.
    After disconnecting the power cable.

He is talking about the compressor and its refrigerant hoses.

yeah I didn’t remove any AC component. The only one I need to remove is the AC line bracket that’s near the coolant reservoir to get access to the engine motor mount bolts.

I don't recommend resurfacing since the timing is really tight these days. It will cause mild pinging at light throttle when the timing is at full advance > 40 deg at around 1500 rpm. A very common result after resurfacing head in modern engine.
Clean the head meeting surface with razor scraper for glass stoves should be enough. There should be not much deposit, usually squeaky clean, only head gasket coating residue.

Especially if your engine hasn't experienced a high-temp event......

Besides, gaskets are cheap - eh?

I meant either ac line, so you don't lose refridgerant.
Yes, the bracket for the line, but not the lines, which I take it you already knew...

Hopefully, they can get the head back quickly.

Gasket is cheap, but head gasket job is pain in the butt.

This TSB has part no’s for Toyota gasket kit, head bolts, and the revised piston/rings. Not sure if it’s the latest, but good starting point.
