Would you say that the parts washer includes using a pressure washer by chance? I'm considering getting one for this purpose.

A shop's parts washer is a tank of solvent with a pump that can be closed. A little more protection. IMG_8688.jpeg

Hey @Mendel Leisk, so after doing some research, apparently I found out that Dollar General sells their own version of OxiClean for $5. The main ingredient, which is sodium percarbonate, is stupid expensive and thus why OxiClean is so expensive. I also found a post where it talks about mixing water with mean green and oxiclean in order to get the thicker stuff out.

If your egr cooler is totally clogged, then soaking it doesn't do much, as the cleaner/solvent/lye, etc can't even get to all the stuff in the cooler passages.

As mentioned above, you've got to clear some of the passages first, even if it leaves a lot of material still clinging to the walls. At least the cleaning solution can get at it throughout the entire cooler.
