I lifted a complete Prius w no tyres w lifting strap thru door holes lifted by roof completely off ground so a trailer could slide under it . This is 4x4 beans legs and a 4x6 cross beam w a electric winch rated for 1000 pounds the car was engineless no trans either . But still I'm surprised it held no pics it happened sooo fast

Sounds like that contraption was being used at roughly twice its rated capacity. It may have held but still a very bad idea, at least if you expect it to keep working reliably.

I would be surprised if this didn't deform the roof, but perhaps this vehicle was on its way to the junkyard so that wouldn't matter?

Yes it was on its way to the junkyard this is ganyard out of 4x4 legs and 4x6 x beam and steel swing set corner assemblies I guessed it might do 4k pounds it's just used for trans and engine pulls. The electric winch is only rated for like 1500 max but still works .

Tom uses voice to text and swing sets for gantry cranes.

Yeah I meant on the swing set frame lift with the winch . No concrete . But the new trailer receiver mounted hoist is a breeze no need move hoist it has a boom just one hand swivel engine and trans around to side of engine bayswing boom 280 to other side and pickup other engine n trans assy swing it right over chassis and drop in car . Hoist stays out boom moves . Makes it fassst.

That's exactly right Mendel these are the backyard swing metal brackets 4x4 legs 4c6 top beam no swings attached instead an electric I beam type hoist w yellow box w buttons . The brackets are green sold all over a 12 foot 4x6 w piece of unistrut attached to bottom of 4x6 should be able to hold 4k dead weight it seems . No humans under it
