So the gen2 was away with college kid for few year: ABS aftermarket been replace (1-2 years) ..

On my long drive back from TX the brake make alot of noise during stop and go, but it going smooth during freeway speed ( not step on brake).

So I make it home, start manual bleed by step on the brake and bleed FL,FR, RR all dirty/air fluid coming out.

RL is nothing coming out ... the solenoid valve do make noise, but no fluid...

Is there a detail process to utilize TS to turn on/off the valve for RL troubleshooting ? the last thing I do is kill the ABS (again).

    TIA,

So stick in TS and run ECU procedure ... clean up all noise and bleed RL ok .

Now the display pop up VSC and ABS, code show C1345 and C1368...

I known we replace the ABS with used one couple year ago... darn .

Can you give lots more details on what the noise was like?

Also is your fluid level showing normal?

If you thoroughly examine the entire brake line for RL and find no damage then perhaps you can find a way to actuate the RL brake in the opposite direct to see if it increases the amount of fluid in the reservoir? Doing this with disc brakes is fairly easy, though not sure its possible with Gen2 drum brakes... But what I'm getting at is were is the brake fluid being stopped?

The kid in me who took auto shop in the 1980's is saying the problem with drum brakes is always bad wheel cylinders and you have to replace them before they start leaking but this is 40 years later and your problem is the opposite and I've never read of clogged wheel cylinders in Prius, or whatever they call that particular part these days.

Is the situation now that everything bled ok, but you have the C1345 code saying to run the linear solenoid learning procedure? That would be the next step then.

Or have you already tried that, but C1345 and C1368 came back anyway?

    Thanks Chapman...
No: the above after I reset memory, then 3 step in ECU/ABS funtion.
I also perform Test and learn the Yoln rate (?) ...

After all successful completions, still display acclamation and ABS light (yellow)..

Code now had C1248 in addition to the other 2 codes ..

I dont think we replace with a decent ABS unit ...

So just to narrow down a failed process and not shootgun any decision ...
    1. Reset memory done with no issue.
    2. ) Perform the zero point calibration of yaw rate and acceleration sensor seem complete with no error.
    3. Linear offset seem to fail (120 secs duration) : the initial -acclaimation- and ABS flash at difference rate .. brake warning (yellow acclaim) slow at 2 blinks/sec while the ABS flash at 4 blinks /secs. . At the end of 60 secs countdown, It failed and display solid , we are expecting both blinked fast at 4 blinks/sec or so.

So definitely, my initializing and calibrating the linear solenoid valve not working somewhere .

I will try to disconnect the battery for 30 mins to help reset the ABS control module ... and retry the process tomorrow .
