I just placed my order and even purchased the safety triangle. The only thing I don’t have are the small metal tools towards the front of the styrofoam. Should I have these? Assuming can purchase locally or maybe during next holiday sale? I just found another post of yours. I’m attaching a screen shot. Are these the parts?
    Thank you!

If that first message was from me, it must have been a very old one before we knew the production car was going to have lug nuts. If it's not from me, it's just wrong. You don't need the lug nut holder or the wheel guide pin. Those were for the pre-production version of the car in late 2022 when Toyota was still planning on using lug bolts like the bZ4X instead of the standard lug bolts they eventually went with.

The tool kit you need is 09105-47020. It contains all three of the tools needed and costs $73.37 if you order it in the next 12hrs. That's the lug wrench, jack, and jack handle. As for the towing eyelet on the uppermost left, that's already in your car. The sockets and extension are completely optional and I picked them up at my local hardware store. The red emergency triangles are also super optional. 81604-WAA01 and $14.14 each right now. I have three in there, but I was just being excessive and wanting to fill up the space completely.

Thank you for clarifying. I did order the proper tool kit. Total order including the caution stickers, one triangle and one premium carbon filter came to $549.48. I just need to order the tire. I so appreciate all the time you put in to researching and clarifying things. I search on here but that spare tire thread is so long.

My friend is supposedly getting the spare kit installed at our local dealership tomorrow. I checked with the parts department and based on their order numbers they ordered the OEM deck boxes not the ones for the spare. : / I told them they should probably open the box before having her come in. Time will tell!

It was from you. I was desperately searching. Thanks!

Out of curiosity I priced out an OEM spare tire setup, less tire and lift. $155 before shipping isn't bad. Screenshot 2025-07-16 at 2.05.59 PM.png

Curious what website you're using for those prices. I'm assuming that's from an importer? Yeah, the prices are good, but the shipping's a b!tch because the parts are so large. I bought my parts from Impex Japan because they weren't available in the US at that time. The price for the parts was maybe 1/4 of what what they now cost in the US, but the shipping was at least a few hundred. I just don't know if it's worth it for parts like this. If you go with an importer, make sure you get a quote for shipping before you commit.

    Current Impex Japan pricing:
    64997-47100 - $27.96
    64995-47080 - $45.93
    64778-47090 - $45.93
    51931-52080 - $2.16
    Total: $121.98

Current Toyota USA pricing - plus 20% sale - includes free shipping
    64997-47100 - $75.50
    64995-47080 - $123.27
    64778-47090 - $123.27
51931-10014 - $11.15 (effectively same part - different part numbers in different regions)
    Total: $333.19

So you'd need shipping of less than $221 to break even.

That was via Amayama. I got the JDM small headrests for my backseat via Impex like you did and they were pretty reasonable on shipping. I know Amayama and Yoshiparts function nearly the same, but Yoshiparts is much more expensive. Impex is probably the best overall for pricing, but they're also the slowest.

Yeah, as long as the packages are relatively small or reasonably light, the shipping isn't that bad. I think I'm up to four or five orders from Japan and only the one was really pricy for shipping. But the one that was bad was really bad. Now a big part was that it included the deckboard, but it still would have been a pretty large package even without it. Just giving fair warning.

And I don't know how much quicker Amayama is going to be in this case. Do you see the shipping estimates on a couple of those parts? ;)

I only use Yoshi for their parts diagrams, but I'll add Amayama to my bookmarks list.

Amayama is the definition of patience is virtue, but they're cheaper than Yoshiparts even when Yoshiparts has a sale. If you're only using Yoshiparts for their diagrams, Amayama seems to use the exact same UI so maybe using them is better for price reference as well.

Is the deckboard required to set up the trunk like you did? I'm not planning to do the spare tire mod yet, but good to know for down the road when I decide to do it.

So the deckboard question is complicated. There are three deckboards in total. The low floor version in the LE, the high floor version in all the rest, and the spare tire version. The high floor version and the spare tire version are identical except for four small, hard foam blocks that are glued to the bottom. These blocks rest on the tire/wheel and give the board strength and stability in the middle.

So if you have an XLE or LTD, then it's far more cost-effective to just add the blocks to your existing deckboard. There are some photos and measurement in the big spare tire thread in the other sub-forum.

If you have an LE, then it's a little more complicated. That deckboard is physically different. Since I don't own an LE, I can't say how well an LE board will work with a spare tire. You'd need the foam blocks at the very least, but there might also be some other fitment issues. Those issues might be negligible, or they might be major. I don't think any LE owner that's done the conversion has ever chimed in to tell us their results.

And I checked out Amayama. It's obviously the same info, but the user interfaces are slightly different. Each has pros and cons. I think I'll continue to use Yoshi when I know exactly what I'm looking for, but I think I like Amayama better when I'm looking for all the possible versions of a part.

I have an LTD, so foam blocks on the bottom it is when I go with this mod.

Doesn't the LE piece have 'ears' to cover the floor of the indents of the cargo space wall? The others don't so that space forms a cubby with tray or spare deck in place.

No. The bottoms of the corners are formed by the side trim panels, leaving a rectangular opening. The LE deckboard sits flush inside that opening, creating a flat floor. The high-floor foam deck boxes protrude up a few inches, creating a platform. The high-floor deckboard sits on top of that platform.

Here's a pic of my floor with deck boxes removed. You can see where the LE low-floor deckboard would lay to create a flush surface.
