Well that's no doubt due to receiving an Irish Blessing ...

Thanks. I only got my 2025 with solar roof a few days ago, don't understand much about it yet, or how it is working. Might be able to compare later.

One question though. On both the car's display, and the phone app, I only see the charge in percentage. How do you change it to see the estimated miles?

I’ve wondered that myself. It would be interesting to see if the number of miles increases by the same number as the solar panel app predicts it should.

Another thing I did in my initial testing (but do not do any more) was that I went and turned the car on multiple times during the day to check its progress (and the amount of instantaneous amount of solar power being seen). This obviously drained some of the charge that the sun had earned for me.

Instead, I now only note the increase in charge from the sun through the app in my phone.

What solar panel app? Do you mean the regular Toyota app? Or is there a different app for solar?

I now figured out how to change the car setting to show the charge in "miles". (Quotation marks intentional.) Is there a way to also see it in "miles" on the Toyota phone app? (still showing percentage)

How did you get it to show miles on the car? I think you can’t change the phone app (but I also didn’t think I knew of a way to show miles on the car either).

No. I meant the standard phone app. I don’t think you can see anything solar from the phone.

    So…

I parked my car on the roof of the airport parking ramp for the entirety of 10 day trip. Upon my return, my car said I got 16.3 miles due to the solar charging. However, my percent of charge increased only 15% (41% before trip and 56% after returning). upload_2025-8-25_4-48-12.png

Something is not right… 15% charge increase with 16.3 miles implies I get 16.3/0.15 =108.667 miles from a full charge. No way is that happening! Also I lost the 15% long before I got 16.3 mile.

Either there is something wrong with my solar charging storage or Toyota doesn’t account for the inefficiency of solar energy making it to the battery.

    Which is it?

...or the car is bad at estimating battery state-of-charge as a percentage.
