Okay so this is a 2007 Prius and it won't start. It started out having misfires and the plugs and coils were replaced. Then it started just running for a few seconds and shutting off and not restarting until the car is turned off and back on. Now it just won't start the engine at all, it doesn't ever engage to try to crank. Also, I noticed that when I turn the car off and take the key out, the picture of a car on the bottom right of the combination meter is flashing, when I put the key in it goes away, but with key out it doesn't matter if alarm is set or not, it still flashes.

Along with the plugs and coils I put a new 12v in it, the other one was probably okay but it got drained down just from working on the car, scanning it etc.

It has codes P0A0F (engine failed to start) and P3190.

One thing that is unusual is that a couple days ago I noticed it was showing 1 blinking bar on the fuel gauge, but then the next day it shows 4 bars on the fuel gauge. I was wondering if there is a wiring issue going to the fuel pump???

As long as you are sure that there is at least 12V at the fuse box under the hood when the car is READY you are in the usual boat for any car that won't start: air, spark, fuel. From the description, the car is out of gas, or if there is gas, the fuel pump isn't working. The fuel gauge on this car is never particularly accurate and since this is a new car to you you don't know if it ever gives good information. The OP did not say what the SOC on the HV pack is. Be careful in this situation not to experiment all the charge out of the HV pack, because if that happens most likely it will need to be towed to a dealer just to charge the pack enough so that it can turn the engine over.

Yes, so after making the post I did add gas just to see. I added 5 gallons and it put it all the way to the top full mark, do I don't think it was out of gas....unless it's just always showing 3-4 bars higher than actual.

In any case, after adding gas and clearing codes it has started cranking back up. BUT it's running extremely rough.

Now the car won't go into ready mode. It was cranking up and running (although very rough) and now all the sudden it's not going into "ready". All the lights come on but it doesn't say "ready" and isn't turning over. The hybrid battery is low but not that low, it has like 2 bottom bars which is always enough to crank it.

I put a new 12v in it yesterday and earlier today put it on a trickle charge to keep it from dropping while I test things....so the 12v is good and strong.

    Do you have any thoughts???

If it won't go to READY how does the OP know how many bars the HV pack has?
