    I haven’t found anything that indicates it makes a huge difference. The difference could be 5 to 6 mpg on the high end from what I’ve researched. The tires I put on are not performance tires, and offer comfort while also being efficient.

    From my POV, on the Prius 2, when I changes the OEM tires with the Toyo LRR (can't remember the exact name), I had an improvement of 0.3 l/100 km.

    Considering they lasted me 90.000 km, it saved me 270 litres, at an average of 1.7 € per litre, that's 475 €. The cost of the tires.

    First fillup on my "new" Prime:

    620 miles
    8.518 gallons
    72.79 MPG

    Dashboard said 71MPG for the trip so it was pretty close!

    I think Toyota finally wised up with gen 5, that exaggerated mpg display doesn't win them brownie points with anyone, and just looks what it is.
