How to find "passcode" on iphone 12?

    I am unable to find the "passcode" on my iphone. The setup instruction in the manual tells me to enter the passcode into my cell phone. My bluetooth is turned on on the iphone. I am unable to find out how to turn on the "passcode" of 1212.
    If I dial the number on my cell phone, it will connect O.K. to my car. I want my "contacts" to be entered into my NAV/phone memory.

    The number you use to unlock your phone, that is the passcode.
