I hear @ChapmanF can help rebuild my fuel injectors for my gen 2 prius. Can't message directly due to how novice I am in the forums. Id like to start the process and have a loaner set while I get mine repaired. Hope to hear from you soon.

probably not a thing . I've installed new injectors three times in these vehicles and the injector changes appeared to make no differences . So ya might wanna hold that idea. They're a place right up street from me national company that does this . Their main services are for mechanical injectors for diesel units . But they can mess with all of em . And even they say .....

From my experience, injectors are crucial for a gen 2 to run in tip top condition. You can try using some STP fuel injector cleaner with Polyetheramine (PEA). Run a couple tanks through the engine and see if you see any improvements.

I know my car will need service when the morning idle gets a bit rough and the car runs good when it's warm. That's always a good indicator for me when my injectors need to be cleaned.

Some years ago, we had a thing going that involved Rich Jensen of Cruzin Performance in Michigan. I could send you the last set of injectors he restored, you could send your old ones to him, and he could restore them and send them to me.

I still have the last set of injectors that got restored that way. They have been sitting here long enough I'd need to check and make sure they still click: he sends them with a protective oil that might have thickened by now. They are the ones used in gen 1 and gen 2. $83.60 is what it cost me to have them.

I don't actually know if Rich is still restoring injectors regularly, or on a longer-turnaround basis, or at all anymore; I haven't checked with him in a while. There also are other shops doing the same thing. There's one in Torrance, I think.

I recently replaced the micro filters and cleaned them. Cleaning is kind of easy. Remove the micro filters and spray carb cleaner with 12V applied. Seemed like the spray pattern changed after cleaning. Also the car felt smoother. The replacement filters is not the same size as what came out, but it fits.

This is what is used -> https://www.ebay.com/itm/173229855881 . Don't use the cheap gaskets that comes with it. Reuse the ones in the car and lubricate the O-Ring really good and twist and put it back. If damaged, need to get OEM from dealer.
Need this tool to remove the micro filter -> https://www.ebay.com/itm/174470161218.
This is what i used to supply 12V and all -> https://www.ebay.com/itm/175701926798

I think only with the https://www.ebay.com/itm/175701926798, you can clean it real good. May not have to replace the micro filters.

Buying o-rings from the dealer is like buying gold

yes.. i think like $12 for four of them. Production cost may be in the penny range.

    Fuel Injector O-Ring - Toyota (90301-07024)
    1997-2008 Toyota - 9030107024

These are $5.31 each at my local dealer. I think when I bought them 6 months ago, they were even more than that. Absolutely crazy for a little piece of rubber
