What it is is this, inside the inverter assembly:

But you haven't reported any trouble codes that implicate the IPM to me.

When saying "I found a post that describes my problem", it can be super helpful to include a link to the post that you found, and also point out what specifically you saw in that post's problem description that led you to think it was describing the same problem you have.

Based on the trouble codes you've reported, I suspect an IPM post that you found is likely a distraction.

Also, just to make sure none of us missed any news, maybe it's a good time to again post exactly what trouble codes your car reports now.

Maybe I read a post with incorrect info. I did find a schematic that I can use to trace down the true meaning of the code. 2025-10-06_20-21-21.jpg 2025-10-06_20-21-21.jpg

Chapman, The simplified electrical diagram of the interlock circuit did not work for me. I did not understand, "frame wire" and it left out some connectors for simplicity. And I did not know which connector was A59, or pin 36. The wire colors were not shown. I do not know where the power management control ECU is. I decided to have a tow truck come to get it.
    But, thanks for your help!

I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, the unsimplified wiring diagram has all that information.

The online version is especially cool: you can just click a part of the circuit and the whole circuit is highlighted and you can follow it around.

Hey, Chapman----good news. I had the car towed to the Toyota dealer ($200). They found a bad IPM. The original warrenty had just run out but it was extended until 2030. My car is a 2010 model. The fix was done under warrenty. It would have cost me $2800 for them to fix it not under warrenty. The main part was $2100.

The car must have had other active trouble codes than what you listed in this thread to qualify for the warranty. Check the paperwork that you received, and please report any trouble codes that are listed on the paperwork.

By the way, since your car qualified for the warranty coverage, the cost of towing the car to the dealership is also covered. Talk to the dealership about being reimbursed for the cost of the towing.

The paperwork from the dealer listed P3004-8-- and they wrote that they cleared the code but it came right back again. I did get the P3004 code, and PoAoD codes. I believed the PoAoD code and thought that the P3004 was a secondary code, caused by the PoAoD problem. I will call the dealer to get reimbersed for the towing. Thank you.

Yes, the P3004 code that you listed in post #6 was the code that qualified your car for the Customer Confidence Program 23TE03. I missed that in your post.

You will need to provide a copy of the invoice from the towing company to the dealership to get reimbursed for the towing. I am glad that your car was covered under the 20-year extended warranty.
