Suggested work during head gasket fix

    I took advantage of Toyota’s 25% off and ordered a head gasket kit,head bolts/washers and a thermostat. Thanks for all the suggestions. Will look into a “repair” this winter

    Well if the car is running fine without any issues, it may be better to do it in the spring. Why do you want to work on a car in near freezing temperature? it's not even broken

    I guess it’s just prep time now. Clean the garage, find a good weekend and get it done. It might actually wait till spring but I will post here if it get it done

    It was maybe +4C this morning, which is a bit of a drop over the last few days. Even that felt like I'd exceeded my threshold for cold tolerance: I'm doing some tidying/rearranging in the garage, and was starting to feel it this morning. One or two decent heaters helps, electrical is safer than propane for sure, but may kick breakers if you're using other heavy electrical loads, say a table saw.
