Not sure why, posting pictures on Priuschat seems dead-easy. Plus, the third-party posting is invariably a pain for viewers.

When you post an imgur link of multiple pics here, it automatically converts into an album, click by click. I doubt priuschat can do that on its own.

I like images posted on PriusChat because I see them. (y)

More updates to this drama. I have been messaging with the Toyota Brand Engagement Center to get them to answer this question. But they simply keep shuttling me to the dealership. So I finally called them and came upon an exceedingly rude Toyota call center agent. Long story short he won't escalate within Toyota and called the dealership parts department for me and then hung up.

The dealership has agreed to order the part again and swap the 54 for 91. I told them very clearly that they will once again receive 54 and only Toyota can actually resolve this. But they insisted that they will figure it out when they receive the part.

I wanted to tell him that this was all a very pointless exercise, but I held my tongue because what's the point. Let him find out on his own.

It saddens me that there is no way to contact anyone higher up at Toyota who can clarify why x54 stamped part is actually x91 (or something along those lines).

Maybe go back to the plan per post #81. I'm not buying that there's anything revolutionary in the parade of intake manifold revisions, have the original as far as I know (our build-date is August 2009).

When I remove my current intake manifold, I will try to compare it with the new one to see if there are any visible differences. I am sure there are some differences between x50 and x54 which are worth the upgrade.

As far as I know, the revision was to the EGR passages, going from a one>four (from the main gallery to the capillaries, one per intake port), to one>two>four (main gallery to intermediates to capillaries). I doubt it made much difference, if any, to the carbon clogging. 3rd gen EGR was a fresh design, and in hindsight, a disaster.
