I am not arguing that the gas pedal feels more responsive with the "black box" installed. I am saying that the stock gas pedal and your right foot can get the same response from the engine/hybrid system in the car if you just push the gas pedal a little more with your right foot. In my opinion, the "black box" is a waste of money for most people, but apparently not all people.

That's literally not how it works Brian. Even their marketing side wouldn't run a million dollar idea on a false premise like that.

    That is how it works.

My 2011 Prius has three modes for the gas pedal response, Eco, Normal (default), and Power. The Eco and Power mode buttons, when pressed, just have a different curve for 0% to 100% pedal travel. Your "black box" just does the same thing as those Eco and Power buttons. Your "black box" has the ability to customize those curves to your preference. An aggressive curve just makes the car feel more responsive and fun to drive. You yourself correctly stated that 100% of pedal travel, with or without the "black box," are the same. The "black box" can not do anything different than what your right foot can do on the gas pedal.

It does NO such thing. It can only put out 0 - 100% Pedal Position.
"torque and HP".....? NOPE. Just pedal position.

What ever effect it may have on the curve,,,,, WHO CARES ?
The PWR button does the same thing, correct?

YOU are the Captain of your Ship. YOU command the power.

Your right foot controls the acceleration rate,,,
regardless what 'curve' the PP input is using,,,
PWR, ECO, $200 dang-deal, Matters NOT.

Your right foot is always controlling the power requested. Nothing else matters.

But have you read about the Placebo Effect testing?
Even when people are told they are being given a placebo, they still feel the effect !
Could this be what "you and your friends and customers" are feeling?

No, sorry it's not. The box works differently. And now, the best part you will get no more insight because you didn't pass the test.

Science Denier. You should send that response to the company and cry your crocodile tears out to them that you think they are liars and fooling everyone. On mute so no use responding to me..because I don't give two hamster's butt cheeks about your opinion on a product I've done scientific experiments on for years and have proof it will add HP and TQ by changing the power curve when you add power, that's how people with race cars tune their vehicles with mapping (throttle/ECU, etc) This product even though they are not claiming any gains, they are not actually dynoing a Prius for pulls at different RPM and seeing the results like I did..Again, no one is claiming ground breaking numbers, we're talking 5-10 hp and maybe 15 ft lbs of TQ at BEST. No wonder all the performance car and truck people hate Prius idiots so much it's because most of you only understand hypermiling and left lane riding..

I did not know that I was being tested.

How does the box work differently than the gas pedal?

The ECU receives an input of the position of the gas pedal. The ECU uses that data to request power from the hybrid drive system (internal combustion engine and electric motors). Remember that the input to the ECU from the gas pedal or the intermediate box is from 0% to 100%. That is the only data that is being sent to the ECU from the gas pedal or box.

So, explain to me what the box can do differently from 0-100% than the standard gas pedal can do.

I will answer my own question. The only thing the box can do is change the curve for 0 to 100%. A more aggressive curve will make the car feel more responsive to your input on the gas pedal. The car will feel more sporty to the driver. An easier curve will make the car feel less responsive (slugish) to the gas pedal. This is the ECO mode. Changing the curve for 0-100% is the only thing the box can do. The box does that quit well. Your box (Powershift 4.0+) has a nice app that you can use to customize the curve to your liking.

In one of you posts that you made, you correctly stated that the box can not produce more HP (from the ICE and electric motors) than what the gas pedal will do at 100% (wide open throttle).

I eagerly wait for your response.
