I went back and looked at the pics and now get the reference to the new manifold. It had me wondering what was wrong with the old Prime OEM one :notworthy:
It looks like a bit (understatement) of work getting the OCC in there. :)
thanks for the post, it helped me figure out where I went wrong and misunderstood. :)

Getting to the PCV valve was a bunch of work:cool:.

Given how little the Prime engine runs in my case, I was surprised the last time to find several ounces of spooge:eek:.

But that's why the can is there(y).

I just installed my oil catch can today. It took about 2 hours, if I have to go back and redo it. It might take me, 45 minutes to an hour. I also cleaned my EGR tube, throttle body, and intake manifold. I was told by Hybridpit, the prime is not as bad as the 3rd gens. But I want piece of mind.

Maybe @RightOnTime will chime in and give us some of the data they have collected:).

Not sure how many Primes or Gen4's that have higher miles have passed through there, but more data is helpful(y).

    Hi Ray,
I recently bought a 2012 prius v with 92k miles. I notice a noise when braking hard or pressing brake to start car (master cylinder?) And the suspension is pretty worn. Im looking for recommendations or the possibility to get it checked out. I was also quoted on extended warranty by toyota and I am considering it. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

    How's the brake fluid level?

    Checked the pads for thickness?

What on the suspension shows wear?

OCC's need to be mounted lower than the PCV to even really work properly. I know everyone likes the look of it mounted up top to show off at the local car meet like you are some kind of cool but it's not that functional based on physics. I personally do not think the Gen 4 needs one per se..but it can't HURT. The stealth bracket that HP sells seems to be the optimal mounting location for effectiveness...(at least on Gen 3).
