Can you please provide a good link for this conversion? I also have a 2007 that originally uses a HiD. The car is called 2007 Prius (Not Touring) Pacific Northwest package 6 basically fully loaded with leather seats, JBL system, Navigation, Alarm and HiD. My car has been getting this issue of headlights on and off for a year now and I cant use it at night. I couldn't replace the original because it requires a ballast and the new bulb that will cost over $500 bucks from the dealer. Is this LED a direct replacement bulb? Anything will help and thanks,
    Edited:
This is my actual car headlight. It has fog lights too below.

Just checked this. The lights are chopdark on amazon. They hook directly to the two 12v wires and bipass ballast.

Yes it fits in the same slot and mounts fine. Inside the assembly wire the two wires connected to/thur the dust cap and disconnect the ballast completely. I removed the ballast completely and put the seal and metal ballast cover on to seal the hole.

I'll just go with the LED and get rid of my HiD is it will work. So is this the one?

Hello everyone. This is Lloyd-ss, the OP of this thread. Pretty amazing that I did my original hid to led conversion 8 years ago on a 2007 Prius. It had 80k miles then & is now at 140k. I went thru a few different LEDs that worked, but none worked well. I finally converted to a more or less factory halogen set up. The halogens have worked perfectly & the new housings are clear, shiny & new. I am happy.
But you guys have persevered & succeeded. Kudos to you. LED technology has advanced so much in 8 years & it is fantastic that something is now on the market that doesn't just work, it now works well.
    Excellent job everyone!

Yes. I removed the headlight assembly and wired these inside the assembly only 2 wires. Was easier than it seems. Drop the front bumper don't need to fully remove but just enough to get to 3 10mm bolts to remove headlight, then remove the dustcap and wire the 2 wires connected to the bulb directly. I used some of those plastic snap on connectors. Has worked find so far.

Okay so just to understand on this follow-up on this conversion from your original HiD. The only one you replaced is this LED below and the old HiD housing remains disconnecting the ballast and wiring it the existing 12 volts switched in the steering control .. Is that correct?
    Thanks,

It looks like they also sell a $56 D2H version with a blade type plug, but other than that, I cannot tell them apart. The $38 D2H in your screenshot has needle styled connectors. I've never done this before, so just inferring that the needle style plugs are more compatible with the wiring that is on the hard plastic dust cover? Can you share what kind of snap on connectors you used to bridge them together?

Read post #3 in this thread. It explains about the connectorization of the 12 volt supply going into the headlight assembly. I looks like the 12 volts terminals coming in from the car are 3/16 male push-on blades. Therefore the wires on the new LED lamps would need to be 3/16 female push-on blades. Changing the type of terminal/pin (round to blade, etc) is pretty easy if you can cut and strip the wire and crimp on a new terminal.

Okay.. so I already bought the one on the picture but I have a 10 amp Dean connector for RC planes both male and female which I can convert the car easily and hope that would work?
    Thanks....

Wow, those should definitely work, but I don't know if a humble Prius is worthy of that high level of quality! Just joking, of course, but they look nice!

As a side note, I have been looking for a "standard" style of low voltage high amperage connectors to use for various projects. But the multitude of choices just confuse me. Has the RC industry settled on a few standard lines of connectors that everybody is using? I have not dabbled in RC enough to know if there is something that plugs into battery packs and motors and controllers, etc., of most manufacturers. Or is it still a crap shoot? Thanks

The only reason why I'm using the dean style connector. I already have those from my airplane pack supplies. Use this instead which is the XT60 connectors 14 gauge wires. These are better because they are sealed when connected. But you have to solder all 8 wires to your car and quick disconnect. This set is more than enough for what you need to make everything easy for quick connect and disconnect.
    XT60 Link:
    or get it at amazon:

Perfect! Just what I was looking for! Soldering and shrink sleeve is not an issue at all.
    Thx

Thank you for posting the LED. I been spinning my head of this for awhile. I don't wanna spend 600 bucks for HiD that will possibly blow up again next 5 years.
