Fuel Economy Drop After Speed Sensor Replacement

    They may mean the tsb no longer gets the part free. Your car is past the time limit.

    I would contact them again with the tsb link pointing out the newer part is 04002-33347 replacing the 140 part. If they don't agree then go with their advice or check another dealer.

    HOWEVER, your local dealer quote listed part number 04002-33447 instead. SO BE SURE YOUR ONLINE DEALER IS BASING THEIR NUMBER ON YOUR VIN.

    That tsb also says the installation requires the installer to "Reprogram the Skid Control ECU" (part of the brake booster). It also gives the "Calibration ID" (software version) based on the old Calibration ID. Be sure your installer knows this and has the new version of Techstream.

    Alright folks, I have an update!

    With huge help from y'all (especially RJParker!) I got the brake master cylinder during Toyota's Black Friday sale for under $500 shipped. I had it installed by a local place for $300 on Jan 2nd.

    So far so good, I'll try to give a more substantial update once I see how she behaves for the next weeks!
