hey guys im going to get my inverter water pump replaced soon, i am looking information on three things. i want to get new clamps for the hose, bolts and nuts and the metal bracket. the parts dude told me it uses bolts and nuts how many bolts or nuts do i get? he also told me the hose clamp is either 15 inch or 12 inch does anyone know which one it is? also they dont sell the inverter metal bracker separately unfortunately, wondering if anyone knows a good aftermarket one if such thing exists. lastly does anyone know if a aftermarket clips exist for oem all season mats? ( i realized this is 4 things im asking)
actually, yes the pump does come assembled on the metal bracket. Are you in the rust belt? Is that why you need new bracket, bolts and clamps? All that is normally completely reusable, but the new assembly comes with the bracket, bolts and a new metal washer for the coolant system drain plug. DO NOT use aftermarket. Just get one from a local Toyo dealer, but shop around sometimes prices are 30-40% different from one dealer to the next. Look for assembly 04000-32528. I keep one on the shelf in the garage. If you're looking at one of these and it has white caps on the hose fittings, it's a Chinese copy and worthless. real ones are about 90 bucks on toyotapartsdeal.com Unless you have significant rust problems, it's much easier to just swap the pump by removing the 3 pump housing fasteners and leaving the metal bracket installed. Then just insert the new pump and tighten the 3 fasteners that are already on it to the original bracket. Removing the bracket is a PITA.

You bought the aisin pump from rockauto or something? I know they offer that pump with no bracket, bolts or washer for about the same price as the toyota full kit. Unfortunate, but it is what it is. The good news is that it's the same pump. I will tell you this from experience: You need to decide how far you want to go with removing the bracket. A little rust isn't going to hurt anything. Too much rust, and you're going to break fasteners and then hate your life. Only you can make that decision when you inspect it.
im not exactly sure honestly, is it harder to replace the bracket itself? not to mention i cant even find just the bracket itself. regardless do you know the amount of bolts or nuts I need or whether the hose clamps is 15 inch or 12 inch?
None of this is necessary, it's a super low pressure pump and all existing hardware has a lifespan way longer than the vehicle.
10mm standard bolts and replacement part comes with a brand new bracket. I've found fastest way is to crimp hoses with clamps so you don't need to drain drain coolant and use existing bracket so there's less to unbolt. I've got a whole box of brand new brackets and bolts if you want me to mail them to you?
i think i should be good thank you for offering but do you think i should just stick with my current rusted bracket? it is only 124k miles so far
As others state, reuse those parts. There's a 6mm stud holding one corner of the bracket - it WILL be seized and almost certainly will snap off if forced. I would take slightly rusty OE spring clamps over crappy AM screw clamps any day. If the system circulates coolant in the reservoir tank with a quiet hum, you're done. If the pump whines at all, you need to bleed air out. I put a small (preferably) clear hose on the bleeder screw between the inverter and radiator. Hold the other end in the fill neck of the reservoir. Power on the car (so the pump runs) then open the bleeder. Let it push coolant and any air back into the filler - when no more air bubbles flow (& the pump is quiet), close the bleeder. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You're not going to get the bracket out of the car in the rust belt very easily leave it the bolts needed can be removed from front fenders license plates etc of other cars Corolla included no they don't have this pump but plenty of bolts . My Western Massachusetts 08 prius outside all its life that bracket is still gold and so are the bolt heads today .. it's in NC USA now with me .
