Seeking "pop-in" light sub-panel for 2010 Prius lift gate

    The lift gate seems to have a sub panel that could be popped out. It would be ideal if one could pop in a LED light fixture (designed for this lift gate or fits by happenstance) that is switched on off / automatically, so as to provide light when needed and turn off automatically so as to not deplete the battery..

    Does such a unicorn exist? I would think I am not the first to look for such a fixture.

    I followed your suggestion last month. I neglected to mention in the the original post that I would like to wire power in to the light.

    those are available as well, but none that will fit in that panel area

    Would be nice if the switch would turn off automatically after a 15 minutes or when the trunk is closed. Unicorn?

    For reference, I believe those two pop-out panels are for access to the license plate illumination LEDs.

    Great find! Did not know that they still sold this. I've had mine for at least 10 years and it still works with no issues!
