Engine Overheating and Coolant Overflow

What was your sense of the coolant system when draining it and refilling it?

Any chance something is clogged or thermostat was faulty?

Is it possible you or previous owner used some type of gasket sealer product in the coolant in the past?

In general a failed water pump or headgasket or both doesn't create white smoke in the engine compartment...

Any sense of where specifically it's coming from?

 

How many miles on it, and have you ever cleaned the EGR system?

 

Another basic question: Has coolant level dropped since the head gasket replacement?

 

What engine water pump did you buy? Where did you buy it from?

 

You are losing cabin heat due to a loss of coolant or the coolant flow has failed or was blocked by sealant.

Sounds like an engine compartment leak in the cooling system or a no flow overheat causing the reservoir cap to release coolant.

If it is the reservoir cap it would be releasing toward the passenger firewall.

However white smoke from the front sounds like a leak hitting the hot exhaust. Possibilities include hoses going to the exhaust heat recirculation system, various hoses under the wiper cowl and the four on the egr cooler.

Since you had this symptom the first time, loss of coolant may have caused that overheating and a blown head gasket. I would find the leak or release point quickly.

Pressurizing a full cooling system would be a good first step. Check for pressure drops and leaks. Then I would monitor coolant temperature with a scanner and warm up the engine to 200f. Check for reservoir flow. The temperature should not exceed 220f in a normal engine.
