Looking to buy a used Brake Actuator off eBay and noticed this picture after I made the purchase. How important is this seal? It looks compromised.
The seller was nice enough to cancel my order. But still wondering if this would have been bad because if the compromised seal.
That seal is not compromised . Is a cover. There's access points under there. It wouldn't have heard a thing you would have installed it and done your business and bled the brakes.
I saw others photos on eBay where the cover was concave as if there was negative pressure. Thought it was a seal of some type to keep low pressure gas or liquid from getting out. Thanks for confirming that it should not be a factor in functionality. I'll continue my search for another decent looking brake actuator.
