This isnt the bank or airline forum, its the Prius (car) forum and this is a thread about what Toyota is collecting on you and how to stop it. You do not HAVE to take the actions in this thread but some people might want to so I dont get the QQ

Yes; it reduced accidents and fatalities. When the contract expired, accidents and fatalities in those intersections skyrocketed. The city counsel had no choice, we bought and maintain our own systems now.

@lohikaarme , I don't know if you saw my question earlier, but do you have ALL the wires removed from the DCM? I'm curious why your compass works and mine doesn't. Thanks.,

Yes I have all wires unplugged except for the WGB cables BUT those three cables go to a singular white plug which I have unplugged so the DCM is 100% disconnected from the car.

Edit: While I doubt it will have any impact, in order to totally rule everything out the last remaining test is to see if once I get the harness and plug it, will it suddenly impact the compass. The harness seems like it is the only current difference between our car setups.

Thanks much. I'd ask to see what you get as far as lat/lon/date/time , etc, with the five swipe thing, but it's a big ask. :)

Going to try "diagnostic mode", posted by @KMO . Probably is just for infotainment.

    Quote:
Haven't tried it, but procedure from the EU service manuals is:
    ---
    1. Ensure that the vehicle is stopped.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn off the audio of the radio and display receiver assembly.
    4. Turn off the screen from the settings screen.
    5. Perform the "Flick from left to right" operation five times on the multi-display shown in the figure. [Figure just shows a long swipe]
      1. Tip: Performing flick operations may cause messages, etc. to appear on the screen, but disregard these and continue performing the flick operations.
    6. Flick the multi-display 5 times from right to left as shown in the illustration.
      1. Tip: Make sure to complete the operation within 15 seconds of performing the initial flick from left to right.
    7. When diagnosis starts, the service menu screen is displayed.

Tip: If diagnosis does not start due to a failed operation, turn the display on then off and perform the procedure from the start. (Only turning the audio of the radio and display receiver assembly from off to on is not a valid method)

I disconnected the 12v terminal for 15 minutes. Lost date and time settings. I'll turn off my phone and go for a drive later. I can see it getting the time (and no date) and no location from Sirius/XM.

I did not pull the fuse. I think the car is syncing position via car play

I don't think so. I'll keep that screen up and see what I see. Before and after turning the phone (and CarPlay) on.
edit: It's interesting that your compass is still correct. There might be hope yet for me.

I did disconnect from all the toyotaconnect services a few days ago. That seemed to force a reset of all the settings. Maybe that did something in preparation for unplugging the DCM where I was not impacted? Like I wonder if you disconnect the box before disconnecting the digital side it can cause this?

I never signed up and the day I picked up the car press SOS and talked to a nice lady who deleted the connection. She said.

The AI overlords suggest the compass should not work- but I can absolutely, 100% confirm that the car compass is rotating with the vehicle and is in sync with the compass of the radar detector.

But you're not using the built in navigation. At least not anymore, lol.
The overlords had me driving in a circle yesterday at a school parking lot.

My compass rotates, just doesn't point in the right direction.
Some kind of initialization must be required, for me.

Right. I could not get into built in navigation even if I wanted because I never renewed past the one year free subscription.
