    Hi all,
Newish to Prius and this forum. I bought my brother-in-laws 2007 Prius a couple years got for my teenaged kid. It has 240k miles, newer tires, new 12v battery and hybrid battery at 68% life expectancy based on Dr Prius app.

I confirmed via Just Answers and Reddit that ABS actuator is going out. I also found enough YouTube videos to be able to do the work myself. The rub is where to buy used from? Or what to look for? I know that actuator that ends in -50 are the bad ones. Some end in -90, -51, and -40 I think. Anyone have any advice or thoughts on where/how to source one. Or if there is an existing thread I should look at.

The part you are looking for ends in 51. That's the updated part. You have to do searches for that part, ebay, wrecking yards, etc

Because of Toyota's penchant for having numbers you can see on parts that aren't their part numbers, there can be lots of confusion here.

Adding another layer, when you go to a Toyota dealer, you generally have to order the part by its actual part number. (Then you might take it home and open the box and see the other number on the part, the one that isn't its part number.) On the other hand, many recycled part sellers don't know any better, and list the part for sale using the number they see on it, so that might be the number you have more luck with to order from them. (Assuming that visible number was only ever used with the actual part number you want, which is a lot to assume.)

The various different gen 2 actuator part numbers have different suffixes, but they have a 44500- prefix.

The confusing non-part-numbers that people keep seeing on gen 2 actuators, and mistaking for the part numbers, have a 44510- prefix.

More on that in ➡this thread⬅.

Excellent, thanks so much. Also, can you share your thoughts on the ‘matching’ resistor? Seems like most of the instructional videos don’t do that and when the they are tested the new and old come back with the same ohm readings. Is changing resistors a precaution or is there really some kind of pairing, like ECU units etc.

Okay, so I just found and ordered on eBay a 44510-47051 which is on the sticker on the actual part. Assuming that is what is sent to me, that is the correct part?
