My engine light came on after I was testing for what circuit was causing a persistent cherp sound. In order to find the under dash fuse I left the accessory ignition on so I could hear the cherp sound. Now the warning triangle and engine light will not reset. No warning lights were on prior to this attempt and car was running fine. I'm wondering if there is a do it yourself way to reset. Any thoughts?

The best way I can think of is the usual way: find out what codes the lights are telling you about first. Your activity might have caused one of the ECUs to think some kind of condition exists, and when you know what it thinks is happening, you have the best shot at resolving it.

Read the codes then clear them I guess you're saying you don't have a scanner in this day n age man.
